Dental Implants
Dental implants are a natural looking and permanent option for replacing missing teeth. While there are alternatives, none are proven as successful. Dental implants have a success rate of 95% and are quickly becoming the standard in modern dentistry for patients with missing teeth.
Dental Implants are used to:
- Replace a single tooth that is either missing or severely damaged
- Secure a dental bridge or partial denture for several missing teeth
- Anchor a permanent denture for patients who are missing all of their teeth
The dental implant process takes place over several months and requires multiple visits. At the first visit, Dr. Laura will perform a comprehensive evaluation, examining the entire masticatory system, taking digital photographs and diagnostic images, as well as impressions for study models.
The treatment planning is the key success. Dr. Laura will carefully plan the placement of dental implants and coordinate with the oral surgeon who will perform the dental implant surgery.
The oral surgeon will surgically place a tiny titanium post (dental implant) into the jaw bone where it is left to heal for a few months. Once the dental implant has integrated into the bone, a Dr. Laura will restore natural function to the tooth with a dental crown, dental bridge or denture.
Dental implants are incredibly strong and durable and are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
